It consists of a sealed glass tube filled with liquid and several floating bubbles. These balls rise and fall within the liquid-filled cylinder, reflecting the changes in the temperature. Each ball is attached to a metal tag that indicates a temperature. Calibrated with counterweights, each tag's weight is slightly different from the others, helping you recognize the weather temperature.

•HOW TO READ THE TEMPERATURE: Usually, the globes will cluster at the top or bottom. Simply read the temperature of the sphere floating in the middle of the tube.
